Aouda, Comptoir Sud Pacifique
Comptoir Sud Pacifique's Aouda - This prolific French perfumer presents their collection, launched in 2009, inspired by Aoud as the central ingredient and theme of their line of "Voyages to the Orient".
The AOUD collection arrives in the iconic Comptoir Sud Pacifique flacons with a small palm-shaped pendant on the neck of the bottle, which is featured on the perfumer's exotic logo.
AOUDA is a fragrance that perfectly captures the traditional woody accord of Oud, which in turn flirts playfully with spicy patchouli and Moroccan cedar. The fun continues with rose, geranium and chamomile, amyris, Copahue balm, cedar and Niaouli accords. All of which bring us to the beauteous base of tolu balm and patchouli.
At once elegant and earthy (if you can imagine)...this scent will melt into your skin and delight your senses with the mysteries of OUD of toffee and warm milk balanced by the elegant sexiness of sandalwood combined with mysterious vanilla pod...a subtle veil of sugar that will invite warm embraces and tender moments.
As you can imagine, Comptoir Sud's rendering of this luscious melange of oud and spices is nothing short of ambrosia---and is every bit as perfect during the dog days of August as it is when you're snuggling before the fire...which is to say - AOUDA rules.
