Datura Blanche, Keiko Mecheri
Keiko Mecheri's Datura Blanche - This beyond beauteous fragrance was launched by Ms. Mecheri and Perfumer Yann Vasnier in 2009, and it brings us airy aromas of white datura and date tree blossom, combined with Indian tuberose, heliotrope, bitter almonds, tonka and Madagascar vanilla.
Opening with a breezy insouciance, Datura Blanche proclaims from the outset that it is NOT going to fool around. Instead, this gem focuses (as well it should) on the delicate beauty of the datura flower evanescant and alluring with just a hint of danger. A sumptuous melange of tuberose and heliotrope heighten the creamy sweetness, while a darker accord of bitter almond evokes the narcotic aspect that renders the datura so notoriously provocative.
In Ms. Mecheri's wondrous hands, this elegant composition offers an intriguingly darker accord (so perfect for those black turtleneck nights) that whispers seductively, but never overpowers the gossamer beauty of the white flowers. A luxurious bed of tonka and vanilla adds opulence and warmth. This legend-in-the-making bears the luminous beauty of a moonlit garden the white blooms glowing amid the velvety shadows. And this is a place where we think we would LOVE to take a moonlit stroll. With someone very, very special.
