Carnelian Perfume Oil, Sage Machado
Sage Machado Carnelian Perfume Oil
A must-have for all fruity-musk nuts and non-nuts as well, Sage Carnelian comes close to defying description. We'll start, though, with what we know: Sage Carnelian is a devastatingly rich amalgam of exotic and sensual citrus notes (tangerine, blood orange, pink grapefruit and mandarin), joined in the middle by mango and papaya, all of which ultimately dry down to the softest and cleanest of fruity musks.
Pure, fresh, uncomplicated, unadulterated - no mace or Minwax in evidence - and it also happens to be one of those rare scents that is as comforting as it is yowzah-wowzah sexy. Men and women will be fighting over this one unless they've learned that it's so much more fun to share.
**And now for our little Sage Primer (we promised): Ahem. Traditional perfume, as you may or may not know, is typically a blend of oil(s) in a 75-90% alcohol solution (EDPs are approx. 15-22% oil; EDTs weigh in at 8 - 15%). So consider what you have in a bottle of Sage. Oils. 100% oil, period - no alcohol, no water - so the sages at Sage have deduced that a single bottle of Carnelian contains the true fragrance equivalent of 3 bottles of Eau de Parfum. Who knew??
Not to put too fine a point on it, we really should mention that Sage oils last forevermore on your skin and do not require frequent reapplication throughout the day, which is nice. They are fairly immutable in terms of staying power and yet on some skins will perk up 18 hrs. after application just to see how you're doing - and it's well-documented that the purity of the Sage oils affords them the ability to adapt to your unique chemistry, resulting in a scent as distinctive as your thumbprint. We like this little feature as well.
OK, we're heading into the finish. Sage would like to stress that these oils will last indefinitely and are virtually immune to the tragic "OMG, it's TURNED!!" fate suffered by too many hapless fragrances - if stored properly in a cool dark place and as far from direct sunlight as possible. Lestat's pocket would probably work...
