Sienne d'Orange, The Different Company
The Different Company's Sienne d'Orange Eau de Toilette, another fabulous entry in their L'Esprit Collection - Launched in 2012 by perfumer Emilie Coppermann, this is such a wonderfully unique and incredibly fresh fragrance!!
The humble carrot is of course terrific in a cake, but in perfume? Not to worry! Perfumers love it: with its green, rooty, woody and fruity-jammy notes, it is a close cousin to the regal iris, and a natural partner for orange.
In Sienne d'Orange, one of her four compositions for the L'Esprit Cologne collection, Emilie Coppermann lifts her cheerful orange-carrot cocktail with a dash of green cardamom and a sprig of dill. Iris introduces a soft, powdery suede accord, while the apricot wood in the base reprises the fruity/woody hues of the carrot.
This neo-Cologne manages to conjure sunny Boho mornings yet radiate the golden-warm, Old World elegance of a Tuscan town. If there's any better way to celebrate la Dolce Vita, we don't know it.
And these bottles!! Egad!! The stupendous bottles from this perfumer are unmistakably a luxury item, carved of very thick and hefty glass, and are designed to be kept forever. They're so impossibly gorgeous in their streamlined minimalism that they'll quickly become the star of your vanity. You can refill them as often as you'd like (hence the "forever") with the 90ml / 3 Fl. Oz Refill Bottles, available elsewhere on The Different Company page.
