Diptyque's Reseda (Mignonette, or "Little Darling") Candle - Diptyque's done it again with their achingly gorgeous Reseda - let's face it; the French do flowers very very well and the mignonette is very very sweet and Diptyque is very very French. These wizards have fashioned a quietly confident and enviably elegant candle (as is their wont) but this time out have veered just a bit from the beaten path in their somewhat modern treatment of an antique flower that's very rarely encountered, which is a crying shame. Verily.
A member of the Luscious staff fell head over heels with her mignonettes grown from antique seeds several summers ago and was astonished to sniff Diptyque's Reseda, even though she'd learned that the mignonette had been highly prized in days of yore as its essential oils were used frequently in perfumery. This hardly comes as a surprise and doubtless explains why we can never seem to find that tester.
