Just as our roses are awakening and gearing up for their big splashy debut, Diptyque introduces Pink Roses (which, as with the other entries in the "colored wax" series, bears the same smashing fragrance that their "Roses" candle does). We've been a longtime fan of this candle but were a bit surprised to learn that it's consistently on the company's Top Ten Sellers list---simply because we tend to associate Diptyque with a more modern, cutting-edge sensibility than is typically attributed to the rose these days. We truly thought we would never find a fragrance, whether personal or home, that so accurately and tenderly captured the forthright beauty of our Double Delight or our Souvenir de la Malmaison - 5 blossoms of which will perfume a large room for days---and we're very happy to report that we were wrong. Let's face it: the French do cutting-edge cut flowers very very well, and Diptyque is very very French. These wizards have fashioned an exuberantly confident and breezily elegant candle (as is their wont) - which, in this case, is just so very pretty. Granted, we're partial to pink - but this is such a gloriously universal pink (think sunsets on Key West) that it would look just as splendid in a library as it would in a sunroom.
