To the particulars: Opening with a crisp and green and appropriately bitter absinthe accord, the heart introduces a spicy cocktail starring star anise that somehow manages to feel both hot and cold---though the heat prevails in a sublime base of dried pine needles and smoky, woodsy cistus (known in some circles as false, or mock, myrrh).
