Inspired by the bitter green figs from Ibiza, a curious marriage of fleshy fruit and astringent salt. Ripe and succulent figs share a highly fragrant blend of bergamot, mandarin, narcissus poeticus and rose, sensibly and seductively quieted by green violet leaves and angelica. The base rounds out with sweet moss,the barest whisper of cedar, and amber. We were startled, to say the least, at first whiff of this fig. One or two of us went so far as to suggest that perhaps the bottles had been mis-labeled (sic) - as we were treated to a delightfully fresh and sparkling - floral?? A very green, young, nose-tickling floral but a floral nonetheless - so whereas we fell head over heels relatively quickly (for us) we were clueless as to what it was - or to what blight could be afflicting the collective luscious proboscis. The confoundment was short-lived, we're happy to report - as the ultra-fab floral segued quickly but dreamily into an equally fab fig that left us gaping. Suffice it to say that this is undoubtedly the most unusual fig we've found, and it's also becoming the fave fig of a few. It lacks the dry dustiness of a few figs we cut our teeth on (and still love); we also found no creamy coconut in the drydown. What we DID find is a surpassingly sophisticated and elegant fig candle that we'd burn at a hoity-toity bash and at breakfast the next morning. Another Miller Harris stunner---and, we might add, a delightfully snappy addition to the omnipresent figgy treatments we're finding popping up hither and yon... 125 g; 35+ hrs. burning time
