And we're going to begin by saying that Rose d'Homme (trans. "Rose for Men") is, in our view, one of the more unusual of the line (can you say "duh"?) - and certainly a bit of a departure from the classic-with-a-catch or tweaked-traditional treatments we've met to date. A complex and multi-layered brew that opens with a bang - of lemon and bergamot and precious woods. The heart moves in with hay and lavender - and then things get really interesting. The smashing rose in the base is offset (fascinatingly, we think) by vetiver and patchouli - the end result being a scent that captivates and titillates - and you'll find it's a must. A major new obsession here and we're spraying it on every fellow we encounter - to the delight of one and all. Francois Robert is the perfumer responsible for this beauteous and sophisticated rose and to him we tip our hats. In our humble opinion Rose d'Homme is an important fragrance experience destined for big things...it has the enviable quality of seeming to smell quite different on different skins (we love this in a scent) - and it's also extremely wearable, which comes in handy.
