The Different Company's Bois D'Iris - the lush and velvety and woody and green fragrance of Bois D'Iris can be traced back to the rugged hills of Tuscany. Growing exclusively on this site, the Iris Pallida (the "Sumptuous" of Iris Florentina - the most aromatic of its kind) conceals its olfactive mysteries within its roots.
Eight years of complex processing are required to extract one litre of iris absolut from 40 tons of rhizomes - hence the scarcity of this most aristocratic of fragrances in today's perfume world.
Many perfumers have attempted to duplicate the note of iris, but never before has this root received such a distinctive processing as that used in the creation of Bois D'Iris. The very generous proportions of natural iris roots (200 kilos to make 250 ml of scent) used in the formulation have resulted in the unprecedented depth and olfactive authenticity of this truly unforgettable fragrance.
